This film is slated for production in late Winter 2003. Auditions for this film will be held around October of 2003, with selections being made within 2-3 weeks after auditions have taken place. Crew for this project will be selected from interviews and from those who were not selected from the audition process.
This movie will require a fairly large cast, compared to other independent movies. At last count, there are 5 main roles available, 10 supporting roles. Main roles will be selected from an audition process.
Auditions: All actors will be asked to perform a 1 minute contemporary monologue. After the monologue, actors will be interviewed. They will then read their prepared scene chosen from the list of characters. Finally, actors may be asked to do one cold reading if the director feels you would do better in a different part.Suggestions:
- One minute is 60 seconds. We will be calling time. Although going over time may not reflect on your ability as an actor, it will reflect your ability as a prospective 'employee'.
- Be sure you prepare BOTH your monologue and your prepared scene. You should be able to do the prepared scene with anyone with any number of reactions.
- I can never stress this enough: BE ON TIME! If you arrive late do to unforeseen circumstances, we will audition you once all other actors have come. If you expect to be late for your time, please consider changing your audition time. We will not wait any longer than one minute for you.
- Come casually. We want to see you and see what you can bring to the project.
- Expect to wait. Some auditions may go longer than others. You should not read too much into this.
- Come warmed up. There will only be one group warm-up, before all of the auditions.
- Relax. We can tell when you are tense.
The crew will comprise of gophers, grips, camera operators, assistants, etc. They will be the "behind the scenes" crew that will make everything work in the background. The crew will be selected initially on experiance and then on availability. Interviews will be conducted after auditions. Persons that auditioned for a part in the film may be asked to re-interview, but will not be the majority.
A team of dedicated individuals will be needed to gather support from the community as well as specific companies and organizations. Specifically, this project will need a business district liason to facilitate deals with specific companies. If you have business experiance, you are encouraged to apply.
Please note: all of these jobs are non-paying! In the off-set chance that this film is picked up my a major studio, a percentage system will be calculated so everyone gets a share. Please note that that share may be pennies. :-)
